Fumed silica, also known as pyrogenic silica, molecular formula: SiO2, is an extremely fine nanoscale amorphous silica obtained by the high-temperature water condensation of halosilane in a hydrogen-oxygen flame. It has small particle size, large specific surface area, high surface activity, and has good reinforcing, thickening, thixotropic, anti-settling, anti-sag, dispersing and other properties.

Liquid silicone rubber is also called two-component additive silicone rubber. Liquid silicone rubber is a type of organic silicone rubber compared to mixed semi-solid silicone rubber and common room temperature vulcanized one-component silicone rubber. This type of rubber has good fluidity, fast vulcanization, and can be cast or injection molded. Liquid silicone rubber is divided into two categories: self-adhesive and non-self-adhesive. Liquid silicone can be cured at room temperature or high temperature. High temperature curing can complete the curing process in seconds. 

The silicon hydroxyl groups (Si-OH) on the surface of fumed silica can form physical or chemical combinations with silicone rubber macromolecules, forming an adsorption layer of silicone rubber molecules on the surface of silica, forming a link between silica particles and silicone rubber molecules. The three-dimensional network structure effectively limits the deformation of the silicone rubber molecular chain, thereby achieving a reinforcing effect.
