What is Coil Coating?
Coil coating is a process used to provide protection or decoration to metal coils such as stainless steel or aluminum. When combined with plastic film and adhesive, it forms a composite material that combines the strength of metal with the advantages of the coating. The coating is composed of a base resin, crosslinker, pigments, fillers, additives, and volatile components. Based on its application, it can be categorized into primer, back coat, and top coat.
HMMAT Matting Agents
Matting agents are functional materials primarily used to reduce the gloss of coatings or surface materials, creating a matte or non-reflective effect. By altering the way light is reflected, it reduces direct reflection, resulting in a softer and more uniform surface for decorative or functional purposes. HMMAT matting agents are silica based, widely used across various industries, including furniture coatings, UV bamboo and wood floor coatings, coil coatings, plastic coatings, UV casing coatings, leather surface treatment agents, inks, and plastic products. For applications in coil coatings, we primarily recommend matting agents with medium to coarse particle sizes. |
